hello! i rlly need help, i have a good colour palette but how can i apply these to make my ponies look good? would i need a different colour palette for the outlines as well?

Replied on: August 27, 2026 at 8:59:32 PM

i really have no clue what ur asking about ;-( .. u dont rlly need another colour pallette for the outlines. just desaturate or saturate ur colour a little, and darken it.. then hue shift a little bit:-)

hey i know this prolly sounds really stupid but do you have like any tips on shading brown.. :(:( ive been trying color palettes and just trying it on my own but it never matches with the face, i especially have struggle shading the locs hair since i have no idea if my shade is suppose to look dark or light....

Replied on: August 1, 2026 at 10:10:15 AM

first i think its really important to difference tan from brown. Tan is a very light, pale, shade of brown whereas brown is a shade of orange. U really should avoid shading brown (imo) with tan colours, unless u are experienced. AT least on ponytown. it can very easily override the brown and make it appear really light which is a common problem people experience. The difficulty to make the face fit with the hair could come from many factors, but id assume its because the colour palettes ur trying out are either way too saturated compared to the face, and vice versa. i unfortunately cant give u a proper tip on shading brown, that will consistently work with any character ur making. However, i made this small reference image u can freely colourpick https://files.catbox.moe/wdyob2.png . it is made with my Own judgement AND stylistic choices. I will think of proper tips and maybe get back to you sometime

Hello , i'm just here to ask, is there any tips on shading black or white? i have struggles when i tried to hue shift black. if you have any tips i could use some ykyk ty!! :D

Replied on: July 24, 2026 at 3:18:07 PM

personally i never use pure white/black. White, as well as black can have many shades. I think the best way to shade white is to use cool colours. Which are: Green Cyan Blue Purple. By starting with a really light shade of green, and making a soft gradient to blue you can create a really nice looking "white" illussion. Including a bunch of f2u bases here https://file.garden/agWjfQyLHz7P5oua/bleh as for black, it entirely depends on ur character So i cant give u a proper direction for that. I usually keep my black shading within this range https://file.garden/agWjfQyLHz7P5oua/ahh

sorry to be that kinda person but are you aware theres multiple judelow ponies that use ur ponytown accessory tutorials despite you saying dont use this for problematic characters including judelow, its kinda concerning , have you came across any of them? or like whispered them to not do it...

im aware, its severely annoying but i cant do much about it lol. the most i acknowledge and learn about these specific invidiuals that they must be severely ignorant and immature, which is all the people id rather personally avoid. it is very embarassing for them also

Halloooo:love: If it's okay for me to ask, how did you come up with the bunny ears and fox ears? I'd love to know what your thought process was when you were first creating them!! I seriously love how creative you are with your skins/custom accessories!! Every time I see one of your designs (its mainly da bunny ears) on other's ponies, i'm always super amazed😮they're so unique youknow 😆😆 i honestly aspire to be as creative as you someday!! :bouncey::bouncey: Thank you so much for taking the time to read this and respond!!! It really means a lot to me:look::kiss:

i came up with the designs when the plushie option came out. for the bunny ears in specific, i came up with the bottom ear years ago when i created a bunny hat" for me and my friends to freely use and match. it was cute tbf. i only redesigned everything later on, by adding the top ear. so i cant lie, i do reuse and perfect my past ideas a lot. make sure u dont get too frustrated while beginning the process. it is really hard to come up with something if u do; especially if ur intention is to not make it look like vomit or exclude random unfit pixels. you also need to be aware that, whatever u want to do might not always be possible to do on top of the head, and might be more possible on the side. it also will be much easier to make things point back at an angle, rather than straight up. first u need to exactly get an idea of what u want in ur head. usually, the idea becomes more possible if u dont limit urself to only using the plushie; but include hats, different ears, horns, hair, et cetera. i overlay a lot of accessories together, keeping in mind the shape im trying to achieve. i experiment. i dont immediately use any grasscode; rather just a plain back if i need to see the shape. for example; if i work on the plushies face: i change face patterns, i check how different eyes can affect my work, i check how different hair affects my work, i check how different noses affect the overall idea. i always overlay, a lot. by using grasscode immediately you will confuse urself a lot. everything summarized would be: a) imagining the shapes b) checking out all the possibilities c) overlying accessories a lot, experimenting. not using grasscode immediately; using #000000 to see the shape if necessary.
